Introducing Portico Play: promo games your casino can run without an integration

Alongside the consulting work, we have been building a product of our own. Today it has a name and a website: Portico Play.

Portico Play Promos is a set of branded promotional games for online casinos, sportsbooks and affiliates. A player spins a wheel, opens a mystery box, drops a Plinko chip or scratches a card, and wins a prize the operator has chosen: most often a first deposit bonus, sometimes free spins, occasionally something rarer. The operator gets a campaign people actually want to play, and a clean record of who played, who registered and who deposited.

Why we built it

We built it for a casino that is about to launch. We were working with them on their acquisition flow, the path from a first visit to a registered, depositing player, and every step of it was being tuned: the landing page, the offer, the form, the moment the bonus is explained. What they did not have was a reason for someone to stop and take part before the form. A wheel or a box with a real prize behind it does that, and it also tells you where in the flow people are willing to hand over their details.

No integration, on purpose

The decision that shaped the product was the first one we made. Portico Play never touches a casino's wallet, bonus engine or platform API. Prizes are delivered through channels operators already run: a bonus code shown at the moment of the win, an affiliate tracker with an offer per prize tier, or a webhook into the operator's CRM for signed-in players.

That sounds like a limitation. In practice it is the whole point. A campaign can go live as a hosted page or a one-line embed on the operator's own site, with no platform release, no certification cycle and no ticket in someone else's backlog. It also means an affiliate can run the same game as an operator.

What is in the box

  • Four games so far. A welcome wheel, mystery boxes, Plinko and a scratch card, all built as renderings of one prize engine, so a new game is artwork and a few dozen lines of code. More are on the way.

  • A server that decides, a client that animates. Every outcome is chosen on the server before anything moves on screen, with prize weights, caps and budgets set by the operator. Every play carries a proof that anyone can check with the public verifier.

  • Your brand, not ours. Colours, logo, fonts, sound and seasonal looks, set once in the operator console and applied to every game.

  • Capture experiments. Asking for a player's details before the spin costs you plays. Asking after costs you registrations. The platform lets you test where to ask, and attributes registrations and deposits back to the campaign.

  • Market rules and a geo gate, so a campaign only runs where it is allowed to.

The first integration

This month we start that first integration, timed with the casino's launch. We will not say who yet, but we will write about what we learn: which prizes players actually chase, where the details form belongs, and what an operator's marketing team needs from us that we had not thought of. That is what a design partner is for.

Built the way we work

Portico Play was built by a very small team working with AI agents, the way we described in Building with agents. Four games, an operator console, a fairness verifier and a production deployment from a team you can count on one hand is not something we could have shipped at this pace two years ago. It is also a live product we run ourselves, which keeps our consulting advice honest.

If you run acquisition or CRM at an operator or an affiliate and want to see a campaign in your own colours, talk to the studio.
